I read the summary a little before i started reading, but i have it a shot anyway thinking there might be something of worth in book, because after all it's a story of a normal, lonely girl turning into a shapeshifter, but unfortunately, as i started reading I realised that book was vaguely like a supernatural version of Charlotte's web! Even 2 stars is a little too much honestly, but i'm giving it that because there wasn't anything i hated outright in the boo. But the reader is given no insight into Ricky and why it is so important for her to carry this baby to term, knowing the heartache ahead, risking her marriag. At times though, these frustrations are transported from the characters to the reader as some of the dialogue can be a bit too bogged down and heavy burdened with the complexities of Police infighting and thus somewhat slowing the tempo down a bit.At the start of the novel, as a reader we know who the killer is, we know his identit. Would I have fought for my freedom and recognition like Russell, or would I have denounced the hypocrisy and bigotry like Jim?
